Position Details:
– Compensation: Average annual salary of $80,000 to $90,000
– Schedule: Monday through Friday, with shifts ranging from 10 to 12 hours

Position Purpose:
Delivery drivers are integral to the nation’s food supply chain, ensuring timely and safe delivery of products while representing our company and fostering strong customer relationships. The driver will operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck for intrastate and interstate routes, managing the delivery and unloading of food and food-related products in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Engage professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, providing accurate and timely information.
– Collaborate effectively as a team member, fulfilling duties to best serve the organization.
– Conduct all mandatory safety checks, including pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle as per DOT regulations, ensuring adherence to company safety standards.
– Report any safety concerns or required repairs promptly.
– Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving policies, reporting hazards immediately.
– Verify the condition and secure loading of freight in the trailer.
– Conduct item counts and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
– Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
– Position the tractor at the loading dock and attach the preloaded trailer as necessary.
– Deliver customer orders following the predetermined route and schedule.
– Unload products and transport them to designated storage areas at customer locations.
– Check items for damage, scan deliveries, and notify the supervisor of any discrepancies according to company policy.
– Confirm deliveries with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) when required, and secure any customer returns in the trailer.
– Ensure the security of the tractor, trailer, and freight at all times.
– Handle damaged goods and returned items, completing relevant paperwork before check-in. Remove all waste materials from trailers as needed.
– Maintain a daily log of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company guidelines.
– Manage general housekeeping in the tractor, loading dock, and trailers.
– Secure all equipment and finalize paperwork at the end of each shift.
– Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
– Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience
– High school diploma or GED, or state-approved equivalent
– Valid CDL A license
– Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements (where applicable)
– Must be at least 21 years old
– Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years
– Successful completion of a post-offer drug test and criminal background check
– Passing road test required
– Valid DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one
– Capable of lifting and maneuvering freight, utilizing equipment for items weighing between 10-35 pounds, and occasionally up to 60-90 pounds, as necessary throughout the shift.
