Responsibilities:
- Learn and perform foundational dental assisting functions in accordance with the appropriate state’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties, under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist.
- Engage actively in the Perfect Patient Experience by mastering how to keep patients focused on optimal treatment while addressing their individual needs and concerns.
- Acquire knowledge of effective infection control procedures for both sterilization and operatory cleaning and disinfection processes to ensure the safety of both patients and team members.
- Execute radiographs and intra-oral photographs at the dentist’s direction, only after completing all state-required training on radiation safety.
- Learn to prepare for patient care procedures and efficiently facilitate the process, from patient preparation and procedure tray setup to providing essential chairside support and ensuring a smooth transition for patients to the front desk for follow-up appointments.
- Instruct patients on postoperative care and general oral health as directed by the dentist.
- Accurately document patient charting and treatment notes in the digital patient chart as instructed by the dentist.
- Assist in patient care by presenting treatment records, consent forms, and health history to the dentist prior to treatment.
- Maintain strict adherence to State, Federal, and other regulations, including but not limited to OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, and HR policies and practices.
Qualifications:
- No prior dental experience is required.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
