Job description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic dental assistant to join our general dentistry office in Ann Arbor. This position is available immediately as we look to fill the role of our lead dental assistant, who is transitioning to an exciting new opportunity.

We invite both new and experienced applicants to apply for this part-time position, which offers approximately 33 hours of work each week. Our practice emphasizes teamwork, positivity, and professionalism; thus, we are looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and promotes a harmonious workplace, steering clear of office drama. Our team is small and consists of one dentist, one hygienist, one front desk staff member, and two dental assistants. We believe that cooperation and mutual respect are essential to our success and overall enjoyment in our work.

Our practice serves a diverse patient population with many Spanish-speaking clients, although most patients are also English speakers. While fluency in Spanish is preferred, it is not a requirement. We utilize an electronic translation tool to facilitate communication, and additional support will be provided as needed. Building meaningful multicultural relationships is at the heart of our practice, enriching the experience for both our staff and our patients.

Dental Assistant Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • X-Ray Certification: Must meet local and state requirements to operate radiography equipment; training will be provided if necessary.
  • Understanding of standard practices and procedures within general dentistry.
  • Ability to assist in patient education and maintain accurate record-keeping, referral systems, and lab tracking.

Schedule:

  • Monday: CLOSED
  • Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Thursday: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Arrival time is 8:00 AM for preparation, with a team meeting at 8:15 AM. We typically extend our hours beyond closing for cleanup and setup.

Compensation:

  • Pay starts at $17.00 per hour.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of experience is preferred but not mandatory.

License/Certification:

  • While a Registered Dental Assistant license is not required, it is preferred.
