Secor Dental Associates is seeking a dedicated full-time Business Assistant to become a valuable member of our team.

Responsibilities:
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
– Greeting and welcoming patients as they arrive, ensuring a positive first impression of our team.
– Managing front office operations, including answering phone calls, handling office mail and emails, and liaising with patients and insurance providers.
– Utilizing Dentrix for patient scheduling and maintaining accurate records.
– Scheduling and confirming appointments for multiple providers within the office.
– Filing patient insurance claims and conducting follow-ups on outstanding claims, as well as verifying benefits and explaining coverage.
– Processing insurance and patient payments, including managing accounts receivable.
– Reviewing treatment plan fees and payment options with patients.
– Collaborating with providers and team members to implement Heartland Dental systems, maximizing office efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:
– Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
– Strong communication and organizational skills.
– Access to minimum Protected Health Information (PHI) necessary for job functions; adherence to regular HIPAA training related to specific roles and responsibilities is required, along with measures to protect PHI and maintain data safeguards.
Preferred Experience:
– A minimum of 1 year of experience in a dental or medical setting.
– At least 1 year of experience in insurance billing and accounts receivable.
– Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental software.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation; reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to fulfill essential job functions.
– Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
– Capability to lift items up to 15 pounds as needed.
– Availability to participate in virtual or in-person training sessions throughout the year.
– In accordance with our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for both team members and patients, a tuberculosis (TB) test is required for all new hires in dental positions, which must be completed prior to employment. The test will be arranged during the pre-employment process, with all necessary guidance provided. This is not applicable in the states of Florida and Tennessee.
Work Schedule:
Monday: 8 AM – 6 PM; Tuesday – Thursday: 8 AM – 5 PM; Fridays: typically half days.
