Position Summary:
As the Department Leader, you will oversee the daily operations of your assigned department and be accountable for achieving key performance indicators in safety, quality, cost, productivity, and reliability, while ensuring schedule adherence. You will embody Pharmavite’s core values and instill a first-time-right mentality in your team, promoting strong root cause problem-solving and corrective action plan (CAPA) development to meet customer requirements. Additionally, you will implement improvement plans and enhance team capabilities through training, coaching, feedback, and effective performance management.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the Annual Operating Plan for your department, aligning its goals with the company’s strategic vision, while ensuring that operating expenditures are managed effectively.
  • Lead by example, embodying Pharmavite’s purpose, beliefs, and values, while driving adherence to schedules and meeting customer requirements.
  • Prioritize tasks to ensure that productivity, safety, housekeeping, and quality goals are met or exceeded. Coordinate daily schedules with other departments to ensure seamless flow of materials and finished goods.
  • Hold accountability for team performance by providing coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to cultivate a culture of high performance and engagement.
  • Collaborate with various departments such as Production Planning, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Distribution to streamline the flow of materials and products through the department.
  • Investigate non-conformance reports (NCRs) in partnership with Quality Assurance to facilitate timely root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Champion and coach teams on Autonomous Maintenance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze raw material usage and product yields to ensure operational standards are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Enforce safe work practices and address unsafe behaviors and conditions promptly.
  • Provide technical support to staff regarding equipment and processes, including troubleshooting and developing control techniques.
  • Ensure that departmental operating expenditures are managed to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A four-year degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience is required.
Certification: Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean/Continuous Improvement is preferred; the ability to obtain internal Lean Green Belt certification and Kata learner status within one year of employment is required.
Experience: A minimum of four years of experience in a Manufacturing/Consumer-Packaged Goods environment is necessary, including supervisory or leadership experience. Preferred candidates will have specific experience in the relevant department.

Annual Pay
Annual Pay Range: $78,105.00 – $117,158.00
This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary available for this role, alongside an annual incentive. Starting salary will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, and internal compensation benchmarks, in accordance with state and local laws.
