AI Pay Analysis: To accurately assess the competitiveness of the hourly rate for the “Dialysis Clinical Technician” role in Eastpointe, MI, it’s essential to compare it with industry standards in the region. Generally, dialysis technicians in Michigan earn between $16 to $25 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and the specific facility. If the offered rate falls within or above this range, it can be considered competitive. However, factors such as benefits, work environment, and job stability also contribute to overall job attractiveness. If the rate is significantly below the average or doesn’t include comprehensive benefits, it may be less competitive, and improvements could be necessary to attract qualified candidates.
Job description:
Eastpointe Home Dialysis is a dedicated unit within an outpatient dialysis facility, specializing in the oversight of peritoneal and home dialysis patients. Our current census accommodates 15 peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients and 2 home hemodialysis (HHD) patients. The unit is staffed by a team of full-time nephrologists, alongside both full-time and part-time home nurses and dialysis technicians. Additionally, we benefit from shared support staff from the outpatient clinic, including front desk personnel and technical leaders responsible for machine maintenance, who assist with various operational duties.
We manage 17 patients who are monitored using connected health systems for Baxter and NxStage devices, providing thorough training for patients to conduct their dialysis treatments at home. Training for peritoneal dialysis spans 7-10 days, while home hemodialysis training ranges from 4-6 weeks. The home dialysis team coordinates monthly clinic visits for all home patients involving an interdisciplinary team, as well as lab draws for peritoneal dialysis patients. Our dedicated team also provides patient education and facilitates referrals to transplant services based on patient preferences.
The unit typically operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, accommodating patient care hours with some flexibility as clinic needs arise. Home nurses share on-call responsibilities during evenings and weekends. Notably, the home clinic is closed on most weekends and holidays except when training or clinical needs necessitate operations.
We are currently offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for certified dialysis clinical technicians. We are in search of a skilled and compassionate Clinical Dialysis Technician, who possesses a strong background in patient care and a genuine passion for improving the lives of individuals with kidney disease.
