Job description:
Hourly Wage: $15.50 – $17.00 per hour

As a Dietary Cook at Vancrest, you will play a vital role in enhancing the dining experience of our residents by delivering high-quality meals that meet their nutritional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

– Review menus and ingredient specifications prior to food preparation.
– Inspect specialized diet trays to ensure accuracy and adherence to dietary requirements.
– Complete administrative tasks, including necessary forms and reports, and submit them to the Director of Food Services.
– Coordinate dietary services with other departments as required.
– Collaborate with the facility’s Dietician, Dietetic Technician, and Supervisors to implement recommended dietary changes.
– Adhere to all dietary procedures in compliance with established policies and regulations.
– Assist in organizing the food service production line to ensure timely meal preparation.
– Process diet modifications and new dietary requests as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Services.
– Perform dishwashing and cleaning tasks to guarantee that utensils and equipment are ready for subsequent meals.
– Help with inventory management and storage of incoming food and supplies, along with performing other related duties as requested.

The Dietary Cook will operate under the supervision of the Dietary Manager.
