Dietary Cook:

Responsibilities of the Cook include:

– Reviewing menus prior to food preparation to ensure accuracy and quality.
– Inspecting special diet trays to confirm they meet the required specifications.
– Completing necessary administrative tasks, including forms and reports, and submitting them to the Director of Food Services.
– Coordinating dietary services with other departments as needed.
– Collaborating with the facility’s Dietician, Dietetic Technician, and Supervisors to implement recommended dietary changes.
– Ensuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
– Assisting in establishing the food service production line to guarantee timely meal preparation.
– Processing diet changes and new dietary requests from Nursing Services as approved by the Director of Food Service.
– Performing dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring that utensils and equipment are readily available for subsequent meals.
– Assisting in inventory management and the storage of incoming food supplies, as well as fulfilling other requested duties.

Cooks will report directly to the Dietary Manager.
