Hourly Wage: $15.50 – $17 per hour
The role of Dietary Cook at Vancrest is vital in enhancing the dining experience for our residents. We are dedicated to ensuring both exceptional meal quality and optimal nutritional diets tailored to each individual.
Key Responsibilities of the Cook include:
– Reviewing menus prior to food preparation.
– Inspecting special diet trays to ensure accuracy.
– Completing necessary administrative tasks, including forms and reports, and submitting them to the Director of Food Services.
– Coordinating dietary services with other departments as required.
– Collaborating with the facility’s Dietician, Dietetic Technician, and other Supervisors to implement recommended changes effectively.
– Ensuring adherence to all dietary procedures in accordance with established policies.
– Assisting in the establishment of food service production lines to guarantee timely meal preparation.
– Processing dietary changes and new diets as they are received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Services.
– Performing dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring availability of utensils and equipment for the next meal.
– Assisting with inventory management and the storing of incoming food supplies, as well as undertaking additional duties as requested.
Cooks will operate under the supervision of the Dietary Manager.
