Position Overview
The Assistant Manager assumes the responsibilities of the Account Manager in their absence, overseeing and supervising dining services staff. Key functions include:

  • Leadership and Guidance: Ensuring adherence to food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety protocols, and customer service expectations in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Leading small teams in dining service activities as required.
  • Reporting: Assisting the Account Manager with maintaining precise records pertaining to income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment for management reporting.
  • Training and Quality Control: Facilitating training sessions and quality assessments to uphold HCSG standards, as well as stepping in for key roles such as dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher when necessary.

Communication & Interaction

  • Effectively conveying directives from client managers and administrators to HCSG staff.
  • Engaging positively with residents, staff, and facility guests to enhance customer and resident experiences.

Safety and Attendance

  • Ensuring the use of protective gear and proper handling of cleaning solutions in all duties, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality in completing assigned tasks according to schedule, and responding promptly to communication signals.

Qualifications

  • A positive attitude with the ability to follow oral and written instructions, and complete routine tasks.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is essential, alongside desirable specialized training in food service management and nutrition.
  • Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision are preferred.
  • Basic computer skills for record maintenance and reporting.
  • Compliance with state requirements for food safety certification (ServSafe or Food Handler).
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and perform a variety of tasks including standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Must reside within the service area and comply with COVID-19 vaccination policies as mandated.
