Job description:
I. Position Overview: The Residential Program Technician plays a critical role in supporting the residential program under the guidance of the Program Supervisor, Assistant Supervisor, and Lead Program Technician. This position is responsible for ensuring the holistic well-being of residents, addressing their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs while adhering to the specifications outlined in each resident’s Individual Plan of Service (IPOS).
II. Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Candidates should possess basic computer skills and hold a valid driver’s license with a driving record suitable for insurance purposes. An acceptable FBI criminal background check and negative drug screening are required, along with a negative TB test. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
III. Health Requirements: The Residential Program Technician must maintain suitable physical and mental health to positively contribute to the welfare of residents. Physical capabilities include the regular lifting of up to 50 pounds and engaging in activities that require bending, squatting, standing, stooping, and kneeling.
IV. Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate should demonstrate knowledge to address both common and complex challenges related to the resident population, including treatment knowledge and intervention skills. Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending all Agency, Consumer, and Program documentation is essential. VI. Level of Access: The position provides full access to residential clinical and demographic records, with partial access to residential financial records.
VII. Overall Responsibilities: The Program Technician will implement all duties assigned by supervisory staff, fostering positive interactions with consumers and colleagues across all program areas.
Specific Responsibilities:
– Program Management:
– Adhere to all I.M.P.A.C.T. and regulatory agency policies and procedures.
– Attend mandatory staff meetings.
– Complete all required paperwork/documentation accurately and timely, whether electronically or in writing.
– Report changes in consumer status or program needs by documenting appropriately and notifying supervisors.
– Ensure personal safety for residents by following established safety guidelines during all activities.
– Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy facility.
– Prepare and cook meals according to specified menus and recipes.
– Consumer Services:
– Immediately report any suspected consumer abuse or neglect to the direct Supervisor.
– Uphold and advocate for the rights of consumers consistently.
– Assist consumers with daily living activities, including bathing, feeding, dressing, personal hygiene, and toileting.
– Administer medications as prescribed, following procedures outlined by I.M.P.A.C.T.
– Facilitate community integration through outings and activities which foster outside friendships.
– Monitor and comply with residents’ individual service plans (IPOS), including addressing challenging behaviors as necessary.
– Engage in Person Centered Planning to recommend goals for clients, supporting self-advocacy and self-determination.
– Personnel Responsibilities:
– Communicate any concerns or issues to the immediate Supervisor.
– Promote a positive, cooperative atmosphere within the consumer’s home environment.
– Adhere to all health and safety policies and respect cultural differences among staff and consumers.
– Staff Development and Training:
– Complete all required training modules and orientations within designated time frames.
– Participate in additional training that benefits both the Agency and the home environment.
– General Agency Responsibilities:
– Inform the immediate Supervisor of any changes in employee or resident status.
– Keep supervisors updated on pertinent issues related to resident progress, facility maintenance, staffing, and policy compliance.
– Execute other tasks as assigned, following established Agency policies.
– Maintain confidentiality regarding all client/consumer information and uphold the trust placed within the role. Any inquiries related to client data must be directed to the Executive Director.
