Job description:

Maximus is currently seeking a highly qualified Director of Quality Management to join our Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) team in a remote capacity. This leadership role involves overseeing all quality management activities across Maximus divisions, which includes implementing quality monitoring systems, conducting quality reviews, analyzing and reporting results, managing corrective actions, facilitating readiness reviews, and executing project reviews along with the necessary follow-up actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee comprehensive quality management initiatives across Maximus divisions, ensuring effective quality monitoring systems, quality reviews, detailed analysis, reporting, corrective actions, and project reviews.
  • Provide expert leadership in quality management and compliance, demonstrating a deep understanding of best practices, industry trends, and governmental regulations.
  • Develop strategic solutions for quality functions in business development opportunities with federal agencies, focusing on innovative and cost-effective approaches to meet contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Drive the organization’s business goals by monitoring performance outcomes, influencing change, enhancing existing processes, and fostering strong relationships across the organization.
  • Define and implement strategies and processes to establish a robust quality management discipline across multiple projects.
  • Build and lead a dedicated quality management team within the Federal Services division, encompassing direct reports as well as staff in a matrix reporting structure.
  • Provide direction to teams located both locally and remotely while continually monitoring metrics and performance across various projects.
  • Facilitate the exchange of best practices through project reviews and offer technical assistance for quality and process improvements.
  • Guide projects in developing quality plans and methodologies to ensure compliance with necessary quality management standards.
  • Lead all compliance certifications, including ISO 9001:2000 and URAC standards.
  • Conduct regular management review meetings and oversee the design, development, and implementation of reports to continuously assess the quality performance across multiple functional areas and projects.
  • Engage in activities aimed at enhancing performance metrics as needed.
  • Maintain a professional and proactive stance in addressing quality assurance concerns, suggestions, and complaints, serving as the primary point of escalation for quality issues.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of quality assurance information in line with established quality policies.
  • Travel to project sites as required.

As the Director of Quality Management, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring the complete quality system to uphold acceptable performance levels by establishing metrics for quality measurement, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting management reviews of the quality systems and metrics.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the quality management system while developing quality programs that ensure adherence to policies and that services meet defined standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders to provide ongoing process analysis oversight for compliance enforcement.
  • Ensuring that quality assurance programs and policies are regularly maintained and modified while promoting uniform standards globally to share best practices that align with the company’s mission.
  • Leading accreditation initiatives and overseeing internal and external audit processes.
  • Reviewing and approving quality records, including non-conformance reports, corrective and preventive action reports, policies and procedures, document control changes, and deviation reports, while providing regular project updates to stakeholders.
  • Building and cultivating our internal Quality team by establishing performance standards, facilitating employee coaching and development, determining roles and responsibilities, evaluating performance, and recommending necessary actions.
  • Overseeing the updating of Quality Assurance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for key quality system-related performance metrics, and actively participating in quality review and planning processes.
  • Establishing and managing expectations, providing training, and offering mentorship to promote professional growth within the team.
  • Being prepared to travel up to 25% for work-related purposes.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of PC operations and software.
  • At least 8 years of experience in quality leadership, with demonstrated proficiency in leading and managing teams.
  • Quality Certification (e.g., Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 principles.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills, with the capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Highly organized and disciplined, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Compensation Transparency:

Maximus’s compensation is determined by various factors, including location, candidate qualifications, expected job performance, required travel, and market conditions. The annual salary range for this position is $80,300.00 to $170,000.00, commensurate with job duties and relevant experience.
