SUMMARY OF POSITION
This role requires delivering friendly and efficient service to our guests in alignment with company policies, procedures, and performance standards. You will focus on maximizing guest satisfaction and maintaining a high-quality work environment as directed by the manager on duty. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that kitchen work areas, restaurant common areas, dishware, silverware, equipment, and utensils are clean and in optimal condition.
POSITION ACTIVITIES AND TASKS
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dish room.
- Arrive at work well-groomed, dressed in a clean and appropriate uniform, and practice good personal hygiene.
- Organize soiled dishes, silverware, and glassware for washing.
- Pre-rinse all items before placing them in the dishwasher.
- Load trays into the dishwasher efficiently.
- Remove and stock clean dishes, silverware, and glassware for kitchen staff and servers.
- Wash pots and pans using the three-compartment sink.
- Air dry dishes and utensils without stacking them.
- Ensure silverware is kept free from trash.
- Maintain cleanliness in your designated stations and workspaces.
- Complete side work during downtime, which may include rolling silverware, restocking condiment holders, and cleaning workspaces and restrooms.
- Communicate any issues or concerns to the General Manager or Manager on Duty, along with potential solutions.
- Assist fellow crew members as needed.
- Clear soiled dishes from the cook’s line and supply clean dishes.
- Keep the dish area and prep kitchen organized, clean, and dry.
- Clean and restock the employee restroom.
- Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries.
- Break down boxes and dispose of trash and recyclables properly.
- Maintain cleanliness around the parking lot and grounds.
- Aid kitchen staff with food preparation, adhering to safe food handling practices.
- Participate in additional tasks as directed by the manager on duty.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Prolonged standing and walking for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to see at distances up to 20 feet and at close range (12 inches), as well as distinguish shapes and utilize peripheral vision to avoid hazards.
- Clear verbal communication skills are essential.
- Exposure to varying temperatures (heat, steam, smoke, and cold).
- Capability to reach heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2.5 to 3 feet.
- High degree of mobility and flexibility within the available space.
- Strong time management skills are necessary.
- Ability to maneuver through openings that are 30 inches wide.
- Capability to work irregular hours and manage stress during busy periods.
- Tasks may require bending, reaching, and walking.
- Ability to carry trays of food products weighing up to 50 pounds over a distance of 30 feet.
