Job description:

The Bus Driver/Chauffeur II is responsible for safely and courteously transporting passengers while ensuring the well-being of the general public and maintaining the integrity of Hope Network property.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Vehicle Operation

  • Ensuring a safe driving environment by adhering to all traffic regulations and complying with our COVID-19 response protocols.
  • Following emergency procedures and enforcing rules for passenger safety and conduct.
  • Fueling vehicles as necessary.

Passenger Experience

  • Assisting passengers as needed and verifying that all are properly secured.
  • Managing heating, cooling, and ventilation systems to ensure passenger comfort.
  • Maintaining the vehicle’s interior cleanliness during operations.
  • Keeping manifest information confidential.
  • Fostering a professional and positive atmosphere.

Documentation

  • Accurately logging records, including fare collection and radio communications.
  • Reporting irregularities to the Customer Care team via two-way radio and preparing written documentation as needed.

  • You are a personable individual with a genuine passion for customer service.
  • You demonstrate respect for rules, procedures, directions, and traffic regulations.
  • You possess a strong command of the English language.

  • You may have prior experience as a bus, shuttle, or rideshare driver.

We are hopeful you have

  • A valid Michigan Chauffeur’s license or the willingness to obtain one.
  • The capability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • The ability to pass the Department of Transportation’s physical examination.
  • The ability to successfully pass a drug screening and background check.
  • A commitment to adhering to the requirements and standards set forth by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
