Job description:
The Store Associate plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to both in-store shoppers and those utilizing omni-channel services. By assessing customer needs and executing our customer service model, Associates ensure that the customer is always the top priority. The responsibilities encompass various sales floor and warehouse functions, such as assisting customers, arranging merchandise, processing in-store and online transactions, managing incoming shipments, and maintaining a clean environment throughout the store. Store Associates embody the company’s values and act as brand ambassadors, managing the entire customer experience from online engagement to in-store interactions. Compliance with all company policies and procedures is mandatory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– Create a personalized experience for each customer by greeting them with a positive and friendly demeanor, reading customer cues, and providing an elevated level of service.
– Promote the DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) Loyalty program and assist in enrolling new members.
– Address product inquiries and facilitate transactions for both in-store and digital orders.

– Ensure a consistently positive shopping environment by maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. This includes but is not limited to clearing debris, returning merchandise to designated locations, cleaning communal spaces, and performing other related housekeeping tasks.
– Oversee the receiving of shipments, display merchandise on the sales floor according to DSW standards, execute markdowns, and maintain stockroom organization.

– Facilitate the fulfillment process by locating items, checking product condition, and preparing orders for pick-up or delivery.
– Utilize company tools to check product availability and assist customers in placing orders, using devices such as iPhones and registers.
– Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

– Prioritize the customer experience during transactions by adhering to DSW policies, ensuring accuracy in cash handling, and efficiently operating the register.
– Collaborate with the Customer Experience Leader (CEL) to address escalated customer situations and adhere to asset protection policies.

– Contribute to a vibrant team culture by participating in meetings and training sessions, remaining receptive to coaching and feedback, and promoting teamwork and inclusivity.
