Job description:
Cleans and disinfects assigned work areas in accordance with departmental protocols. Responsible for the removal of medical waste, trash, and linens. Performs interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery in line with established procedures. Operates effectively within a designated area of responsibility.
Essential Functions:
– Conduct cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking of patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established protocols.
– Safely remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
– Carry out interim and restorative maintenance for hard floors, carpets, and upholstery as per procedures.
– Assemble, maintain, and store the necessary equipment and supplies to complete tasks according to departmental standards.
– Collaborate and communicate with team members to ensure smooth coordination and continuity of services; report any general maintenance or specialized cleaning needs in the work area.
– Assist visitors and employees in navigating the hospital to their desired destinations.
– Function effectively within a designated cleaning area.
– Be flexible in working across departmental sites as needed for coverage and business requirements.

Qualifications:

This position is part-time, with variable shifts, totaling 24 hours per week and including work every other weekend at our Watervliet Hospital site.
