Position Summary
- As Department Manager, you will manage and supervise housekeeping, laundry, and floor care staff at a designated site, adhering to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. You will lead a team in completing both light and heavy housekeeping tasks and laundry aide duties across varying shifts.
- You will oversee staff training, quality control, and the timely completion of projects, conducting regular assessments of work quality.
- Responsibilities include maintaining records related to income, expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
- You will serve as a liaison between building occupants or administrators and HCSG staff, ensuring effective communication and compliance with directives.
- Safety is paramount; thus, you will assist in training staff on proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions, ensuring safety standards are consistently met.
- Consistent punctuality and responsiveness to the paging system are essential, along with positively representing HCSG through courteous interactions with colleagues and clients.
- Building rapport with residents and guests through pleasant and tactful communication is key.
Qualifications
- A positive attitude and the ability to follow instructions, both oral and written, as well as perform routine tasks consistently, are essential.
- Candidates should demonstrate leadership skills after completing required training and perform roles independently and safely.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with a minimum of two years’ experience in Environmental Services within a healthcare environment and supervisory roles.
- Reliability in attendance and punctuality is crucial.
