Job description:

Cleans and disinfects assigned work areas in accordance with departmental procedures. Ensures the proper removal of medical waste, trash, and linens. Performs both interim and restorative maintenance of the health system’s hard floors, carpets, and upholstery, adhering to established protocols. Functions effectively within a designated area of responsibility.

Essential Functions
Responsible for the thorough cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking of patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas in line with established procedures. Handles the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams. Executes interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery per departmental guidelines. Assembles, maintains, and stores the necessary equipment and supplies to effectively complete assigned tasks. Coordinates and communicates with team members to ensure the continuity and coordination of services, while also reporting any general maintenance or specialized cleaning needs in the work area. Provides assistance to visitors and employees in navigating the hospital premises to reach their destinations. Maintains full functionality within a designated cleaning area and may be required to work across departmental sites as needed for coverage.

Qualifications
Preferred

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in public service or customer service within a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial settings
