Job Title: Environmental Services Technician

Position Overview:
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of hospital facilities in accordance with hospital, departmental, and regulatory agency standards. This role is essential in providing a safe and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and workplace practices as dictated by regulatory guidelines.
  • Clean and restock all assigned areas, including patient rooms, bathrooms, offices, clinical areas, conference rooms, nurses’ stations, and stairwells, in line with departmental standards and guidelines. Maintain a record of daily duties in assigned areas.
  • Implement departmental procedures for the six-step cleaning process, as well as any additional steps specified in job assignments.
  • Conduct cleaning of patient beds.
  • Transport equipment and furniture as required.
  • Dispose of biomedical and solid waste materials properly.
  • Wear the assigned uniform and ensure a professional appearance at all times.
  • Set up conference rooms as needed.
  • Clean gross organic soil in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six months of housekeeping or maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
