Hourly rates and overtime opportunities will vary based on experience and location, with current openings across the U.S. and Canada. Compensation ranges from $28 to $32 per hour, dependent upon experience and skill. If the selected candidate possesses qualifications for a more experienced role, the job level may be adjusted accordingly.

The ideal candidate will possess experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes, or construction and heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, tractors, military heavy equipment (including MRAP vehicles, HMEE, and tanks), aircraft, aerospace, and ground support equipment, or similar machinery. Previous mechanical or technical experience focused on heavy equipment is essential, along with educational background in mechanics, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems.

Key responsibilities include:

– Replacing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
– Utilizing technical support resources, including operator, parts, and maintenance manuals, for troubleshooting and repair procedures
– Conducting Unit Condition Inspections and generating reports
– Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area
– Performing tasks in accordance with Altec safety practices and procedures
– Reporting any issues that may affect customer relationships to supervisors
– Providing precise and complete information on all required documentation
– Upholding Altec’s core values in all interactions
– Undertaking additional duties as assigned

Qualifications for the role include:

– A High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED
– Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
– Physical capability to maneuver objects and tools weighing up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling involved
– High dexterity level
– Provision of basic tools as per the Altec tool policy, as required
– Valid driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicles
– Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
– Willingness to support customers by working overtime as necessary
– Commitment to safety in all aspects of work
