Position Purpose:
The Event & Conference Coordinator will provide professional administrative support by planning, organizing, and coordinating various events, conferences, and continuing education programs within the School/College/Division. This role involves establishing and monitoring budgets and work plans to ensure objectives are successfully met.

Essential Job Functions:
The Coordinator will assist with the planning, organization, and coordination of financial, personnel, and operational activities related to events, conferences, and continuing education programs. Responsibilities include evaluating proposals’ feasibility, developing programs in alignment with the School/College/Division’s objectives, and leading planning committees. Additionally, the Coordinator will determine service delivery needs, oversee work plans and budgets, manage materials production, and define resource requirements.

Key tasks also involve securing venues, negotiating pricing and contracts, and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders. The Coordinator will attend events and programs to oversee operations, including participant registration, support for directors, faculty, and speakers, as well as managing food and beverage services.

Evaluating the effectiveness of events, conferences, and continuing education programs will be crucial, as will preparing comprehensive post-conference reports covering attendance, financial outcomes, evaluations, and improvement opportunities. The Coordinator will assist in developing and sustaining overall program funding and strategic initiatives for the department, including potentially securing accreditation through the Continuing Education department.

This position may involve providing functional supervision to support personnel, including assigning, monitoring, reviewing work activities, and training staff in proper methods and procedures. The Coordinator will also represent the School/College/Division at national and regional conferences as needed and is expected to perform additional related duties as assigned.
