Job description:

OBJECTIVE:
The Event Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for all event-related activities at Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan. This role is centered on the recommendation, planning, and execution of internal and external events that enhance the brand experience for the Farm Bureau Insurance field force, staff, employees, and the public.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide logistical and strategic assistance to the Event Management Supervisor in the selection and planning of venues, activities, presentations, and registrations, as well as various engagement campaigns for Farm Bureau Insurance events.
  • Prepare event registration materials and elements for all Field Force events, which include but are not limited to the Multi-Line Marketing Convention, Agent Business Seminar, Multi-Line Sales Council, Director’s Cup, and President’s Council.
  • Assist in delivering event content by hosting workshops and coordinating with subject matter experts and presenters to gather necessary materials. This includes collaboration on the preparation of presentation slides, videos, and other relevant content with other marketing teams.
  • Collaborate with the graphics team and the Digital Solutions and Creative Production Resource Agency (DSCPRA) to develop creative assets, including visual media and event materials, for both pre-event and post-event correspondence.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:

  • An Associate’s degree, preferably in public relations, communications, event management, or marketing, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficient computer skills and a strong working knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and web-based email and event management software.
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
  • A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Strong administrative abilities, complemented by experience in typing and data entry.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in event planning and familiarity with digital media and graphic design.
  • Possession of a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is advantageous.
