Job description:
The Executive Chef is primarily responsible for leading and managing the culinary team within the recognized Food and Beverage operation of our venue. This role involves actively supervising, coaching, counseling, directing, training, and mentoring culinary staff to uphold the company’s quality standards. The Executive Chef will independently initiate and authorize all employment-related actions, including hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, promotion, and transfer, while managing employee relations to foster a positive, harmonious, compliant, and cooperative work environment.
The Executive Chef oversees the daily operations of the kitchen in alignment with Oak View Group’s policies and objectives, ensuring guest satisfaction, profitability, and a productive workplace. Responsibilities include the effective management and operation of the culinary team which encompasses event planning, scheduling, food preparation and production, food cost control, adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, kitchen safety, employee training, and supervision, alongside any additional tasks assigned by the F&B Director. A high level of oversight, culinary expertise, and operational/personnel support is essential for the seamless functioning of all food outlets and events.
This pivotal position requires regular attendance and availability to work a variable schedule driven by events, including evenings and weekends. Candidates must demonstrate open availability, a professional demeanor, and possess exceptional interpersonal skills while exhibiting self-direction. The annual salary for this role ranges from $60,000 to $65,000.

Responsibilities:
– Manage, develop, and mentor a team of 35 full-time and part-time culinary employees, overseeing all aspects of employment actions such as hiring, firing, and discipline.
– Ensure awareness of workplace expectations among event staff; provide continuous assistance, training, and mentoring to foster a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment; lead by example, reinforcing procedures through consistent practice and constructive feedback.
– Achieve budgeted food cost percentages through effective control measures, including portion control, kitchen timing, inventory management, food storage practices, and waste reduction.
– Control labor costs by efficiently scheduling kitchen staff and cross-training employees; monitor and approve break documentation for all kitchen personnel.
– Ensure the purchasing and preparation of food products meet Oak View Group’s standards for quality and consistency; develop menus and monitor food production to ensure compliance with recipe specifications, portion control, and quality benchmarks.
– Supervise all line set-up, preparation, and breakdown activities, delegating tasks to kitchen staff as needed.
– Ensure the proper maintenance, storage, and repair of kitchen equipment for operational readiness.
– Coordinate the delivery and set-up of catering services and food service areas as required.
– Facilitate the training and development of kitchen staff, including departmental orientation for newcomers; provide leadership, build morale, and empower the staff.
– Maintain a positive employee relations environment, responsible for staffing, training, evaluation, and counseling of kitchen personnel; foster effective communication and collaboration across all levels of staff.
– Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, safety, and employment regulations by clearly communicating and reinforcing relevant standards and procedures to kitchen staff.
– Oversee kitchen record-keeping and administrative tasks, including food inventories and invoicing; organize employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage across kitchen operations and adherence to uniform policies.
– Promote teamwork through effective communication, follow-through, and goal-setting; lead by example while ensuring quality management of products and services.
– Oversee the timely preparation of staff meals, ensuring they are healthy and aligned with the established meal calendar.
Qualifications:
