Position Summary:
The Expeditor is responsible for preparing food items in compliance with local health department standards, as well as Suburban Inns’ Core Values and Big E’s operational benchmarks. Your commitment to ensuring guest satisfaction is paramount.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet guests warmly and engage them in conversation to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Expedite food items following standardized recipes.
  • Set up service stations with necessary supplies.
  • Serve items according to established portion and presentation standards.
  • Communicate any anticipated shortages to the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned work areas and equipment.
  • Set up, maintain, and dismantle the Expo station efficiently.
  • Adhere to local health and safety regulations.
  • Follow all processes established by Suburban Inns.
  • Exhibit consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge:
Candidates should possess the ability to interpret and extract information, as well as perform basic arithmetic functions. Proficiency in typing, record keeping, and word processing is advantageous. Strong verbal communication and organizational skills are essential.

Formal Education and Job-Related Experience:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in a full-service restaurant environment.

License, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
ServSafe Food and Allergen Certification is preferred.

Work Schedule:
The role requires availability for varied shifts, including daytime, evening, night, holiday, and weekend assignments, with flexibility based on business needs.

Required Travel:
Travel to other Suburban Inns properties or client locations is not required, and all work is conducted on-site.

Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:
Uniforms, including a shirt and hat, will be provided. Team members are responsible for wearing Suburban Inns-approved black slacks or Dockers (no yoga-style) and black, close-toed, non-slip shoes.

Appearance:
Employees must maintain a well-groomed appearance. Approval from management is necessary for all facial piercings and tattoos not covered by the work uniform. Any tattoos deemed offensive based on sensitive or legally protected characteristics must be concealed at all times. This policy will be enforced by the position’s supervisor, with oversight by the Vice President of Operations, without regard to any protected class attributes.
