About Us:
We are a reputable and expanding Allergy practice that specializes in Food Allergy and its treatment, while also addressing a comprehensive spectrum of Allergy and Immunology concerns. As our practice continues to grow, we are enhancing our Patient Engagement team to maintain our commitment to delivering exceptional service and support to both new and existing patients.

Position Overview:
We are in search of an experienced Medical Receptionist who has a robust background in medical office administrative procedures, including eligibility verification and new patient onboarding. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills and demonstrate the ability to manage a variety of administrative tasks efficiently and accurately, with a preference for those who have experience in Allergy-related settings. Punctuality and regular attendance are critical to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring that each patient is treated with the respect and care we all desire when visiting healthcare providers.
  • Schedule patient appointments and oversee the management of the appointment calendar.
  • Verify and update patient information and insurance details accurately.
  • Execute check-in and check-out procedures, including the collection of co-pays and processing of payments.
  • Manage and maintain electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness of updates.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and proactively address any scheduling challenges.
  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication swiftly and effectively.
  • Process referrals, authorizations, and associated paperwork as required.
  • Assist with filing, faxing, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Provide support to other departments as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a comparable role within a healthcare environment.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems, with eClinicalWorks experience being a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and competent keyboard skills.

Schedule:
Our office is currently open to patients from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Mondays and Thursdays, and from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The front desk team is scheduled to begin at 7:30 am to prepare for the first patients of the day and may be required to extend their hours beyond the posted closing times to accommodate patient flow. We intend to expand our hours to include Fridays in 2025.
