Position Overview:
The Fitness Experience Specialist plays a vital role in supporting both new and existing members in achieving their health and wellness goals. This position involves fostering a friendly, safe, and clean environment that welcomes individuals of all backgrounds and abilities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Current CPR/AED certifications are required, or completion within six months of employment.
  • Technical proficiency in the operation and use of various fitness equipment is necessary.
  • Prior customer service experience (6 months to 1 year) is preferred.
  • Experience in cleaning or housekeeping (commercial or residential) is also preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure cleanliness of wellness areas and equipment throughout the day, including frequent sanitization, especially before and after member use. Maintain high cleanliness standards through regular hourly checks.
  • Monitor all sections of the wellness center, including free weight, cardio, and select machine areas, to uphold safety.
  • Engage proactively with members on the wellness floor and during group exercise classes by providing assistance, demonstrations, and enhancing their YMCA experience.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed to maintain a friendly, clean, and safe environment for all members.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in the health and wellness field.
  • Familiarize yourself with all wellness programs to effectively promote and enlighten YMCA members.
