Job Title: Float Front Desk/Medical Assistant

Company: One Medical

Location: Columbus, OH

Pay: $19 per hour

AI Pay Analysis: An hourly rate of $19 for a Float Front Desk/Medical Assistant in Columbus, OH, is somewhat on the lower end of the salary spectrum for this role. According to recent data, medical assistants in Ohio typically earn between $15 to $25 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and the specific healthcare setting. Given the responsibilities that often accompany this position, such as managing patient flow, administrative duties, and sometimes clinical support, a rate closer to $20 to $25 per hour would be more competitive. Therefore, while $19/hour may meet minimum wage standards, it may not fully align with industry benchmarks or reflect the skill level required for medical assistants.

Job description:
As a Float Front Desk/Medical Assistant (internally recognized as a Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist) at One Medical, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an outstanding experience for our patients and facilitating a crucial aspect of their care journey. Responsibilities include:
– Delivering exceptional venipuncture services to diverse patient populations, ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
– Performing extended scope duties, such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vital signs monitoring, ear lavages, vaccine administration, PPD tests, and swabs.
– Upholding high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, inventory management, and sterilization of tools.
– Extending care beyond the lab environment by addressing patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and the virtual medical team with clerical tasks including biometric screening forms, medical record reviews, billing inquiries, and Department of Health reporting.
– Utilizing our C-I-CARE framework to ensure all patient interactions are exceptional and facilitating a fluid and positive in-office experience through effective scheduling and patient feedback management.
– Handling all front desk duties, including patient check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and administrative paperwork.
– Contributing to team development by participating in team meetings, problem-solving sessions, and supporting in-office providers with various requests.
