FLOOR CLEANING TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

  • If you possess strong teamwork skills, a keen eye for detail, and an eagerness to learn, you may be an ideal candidate for this role. The ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions while engaging with customers is essential. Previous leadership or project management experience is advantageous.
  • Work hours typically vary, with a primary focus on second shift from Monday to Friday. Some clients may require services on Saturdays, and a schedule will be coordinated accordingly.
  • While experience is preferred, it is not required. Relevant experience may include (1) stripping and waxing floors, (2) cleaning ceramic tile and grout, (3) carpet cleaning, and (4) deep cleaning. Training, uniforms, vehicles, equipment, and products will be provided to enable you to perform your duties professionally. The starting pay ranges from $17 to $20 per hour, commensurate with experience, with opportunities for pay increases following the completion of training.
  • This position entails the cleaning, maintenance, and repair of carpeted and hard floor surfaces in commercial settings. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary:

Requirements

  • Execute all floor cleaning and maintenance duties for facilities utilizing tools and procedures provided by ServiceMaster
  • Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, stripping, waxing, buffing, relocating furniture, disinfecting floors with sanitizers, spot cleaning, and cleaning elevators and stairs
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of floor maintenance procedures, including but not limited to stripping and waxing and identifying various flooring types
  • Ability to operate a range of floor cleaning equipment and machinery
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Adhere to the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear as required
  • Responsible for opening and securing facilities and managing the security systems as needed
  • On-the-job training will be provided for those demonstrating a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
  • Previous experience in a professional janitorial or floor care role, including work in office complexes, hotels, hospitals, or schools, is a plus
  • Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment are essential
  • Contribute positively to the workplace environment with a friendly demeanor while supporting overall team objectives, which includes maintaining a professional appearance, reliability, and punctuality

Physical Demands and Qualifications:
