Job description:

Under general supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for various key functions, including zone maintenance, vehicle receiving and shipping, inventory scanning, and vehicle movement both on and off the lot. Additional duties encompass lot washing and merchandising, capturing and uploading photographs to carmax.com, and providing exceptional customer service.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execute processes as outlined by work instructions and standardized procedures.
  • Engage in problem-solving and participate in continuous improvement initiatives alongside the team.
  • Assist in the training of new associates, guided by the Inventory Associate II or Manager.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain daily lot upkeep and ensure the security of display areas and work-in-progress zones.
  • Secure and receive vehicles delivered to CarMax.
  • Prepare vehicle and title packets for distribution to other locations.
  • Conduct scanning of vehicles to uphold accurate product status.
  • Clean and vacuum returned customer vehicles and loaner vehicles as needed.
  • Perform front-lot washing duties.
  • Execute the Photo Station process to document vehicle condition.
  • Drive vehicles on and off the lot for repairs or storage.
  • Provide assistance to Auctions, if applicable.
  • Ensure workplace cleanliness and organization in alignment with CarMax 5S standards.
  • Undertake tasks as assigned by Flow Inventory Associate IVs and Managers.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and compliance with CarMax DSEPS standards.
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting, and transcribing data to maintain accurate records.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Ability to follow processes as specified by work instructions and standardized procedures.
  • Complete all necessary Inventory Associate Workstation Certifications and Assigned Workday Learnings.
  • Capable of safely lifting up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Work environments may vary between indoor and outdoor settings and may involve exposure to noisy and/or inclement weather conditions.
  • Flexible scheduling is required, including shifts that may encompass nights, weekends, and holidays.
