Job description:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for various tasks related to zone maintenance, vehicle receiving and shipping, inventory scanning, vehicle movement (both on and off the lot), lot washing and merchandising, as well as taking and uploading photos to carmax.com, all while providing exceptional customer service.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Execute processes as defined by work instructions and/or standardized procedures.
- Engage in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives with the team.
- Assist in training new associates under the guidance of the Inventory Associate II and/or the Manager.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Ensure daily lot maintenance and uphold security standards for display areas and work-in-progress zones.
- Secure and receive vehicles shipped to CarMax.
- Prepare vehicle and title packets for shipping to other locations.
- Complete vehicle scanning to maintain accurate product status.
- Perform washing and vacuuming of customer returns and loaner vehicles.
- Conduct front-lot washing.
- Execute Photo Station processes.
- Drive vehicles on and off the lot for repairs or storage.
- Provide support for Auctions, if applicable.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization in accordance with CarMax 5S standards.
- Complete assigned duties as directed by Flow Inventory Associate IVs and Managers.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license, meeting CarMax DSEPS standards.
- Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.
- A high school diploma or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Capability to execute processes as outlined by work instructions and/or standardized procedures.
- Completion of Inventory Associate Workstation Certifications and Assigned Workday Learnings.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:
- Work may be conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments, including potentially noisy and/or inclement weather conditions.
- Flexible work hours, with shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires prolonged walking or standing in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Adherence to the CarMax dress code is mandatory while working in the store.
- Compliance with all CarMax, OSHA, and EPA standards, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment and proper waste disposal in designated areas, is expected.
- Adherence to all CarMax policies, including Attendance, Asset Protection, Integrity, TAWR, and Standards of Professional Appearance, is required.
