Position Summary
- Foodservice Director: Oversees the foodservice program at a single site, providing leadership and support to meet established standards for food quality, inventory management, food safety, and customer service, in line with facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
- Reporting: Maintains financial and operational records regarding income, expenditures, personnel, and equipment, which will be reported to HCSG and Facility management.
- Training: Responsible for staff training and quality control to meet HCSG standards, regularly assessing work quality and documenting findings. Must also be able to assist in the dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher roles as necessary.
- Communication: Effectively conveys directives from client managers and facility administrators to HCSG staff.
- Safety: Ensures the safe use of cleaning solutions and proper protective gear, adhering to all safety standards and policies to maintain a sanitary environment.
- Punctuality: Demonstrates consistent attendance and timely task completion according to schedule.
- Customer Experience: Represents HCSG positively through courteous and cooperative interactions with all stakeholders.
- Resident Experience: Engages in positive and respectful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.
Qualifications
- Exhibits a positive attitude and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions while performing routine tasks daily.
- Following appropriate training, demonstrates the capacity to lead independently while ensuring safe work practices.
- Preferred: An associate’s degree in food service management or hospitality, including relevant coursework from an accredited institution.
- Required: Specialized training in foodservice management and nutrition; successful completion of an approved Food Protection Manager course within the first 14 days of employment.
- Certification as a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred, or as mandated by State & County regulations.
- Must achieve eLuminate Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) certifications within the initial 60 days of employment.
- Two years of experience in quantity food production, service, and personnel supervision is desired.
- Basic computer proficiency to maintain records and generate reports, including web-based reporting.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies in accordance with State, Local, and Customer requirements.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods, as well as perform routine tasks continuously.
- Must reside within the service area.
