Job Title: Food Service Helper – 2nd shift

Company: Michigan Technological University

Location: Houghton, MI

Pay: $15.91 per hour

AI Pay Analysis: The hourly rate of $15.91 for a “Food Service Helper – 2nd shift” in Houghton, MI, appears to be on the lower end of the pay scale for similar positions in the food service industry, particularly given the cost of living and wage standards in Michigan. According to various sources, food service helpers can earn between $12 and $20 per hour, with many factors such as experience and location influencing this range. In Houghton, where wages might be slightly less due to its smaller size and economic context, $15.91 is somewhat competitive but may not attract higher-quality candidates or reflect the rising costs associated with inflation and living expenses. Therefore, while it’s a decent starting point, the wage may need to be adjusted to align better with industry standards and local economic conditions.
