Job description:

Perform food service responsibilities encompassing food preparation and production, customer service, equipment operation, and cashier duties.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and direct the activities of student food service workers in the designated area.
  2. Assist in training and instructing regular student employees in the assigned area. Maintain accurate records and prepare necessary reports.
  3. Manage food ordering, schedule student workers, maintain inventory, and operate electronic cash registers and card readers. Ensure financial accountability by processing cash and delivering it to accounting.
  4. Uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards within the assigned area.
  5. Operate all relevant equipment used in the preparation and production of menu items, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and the ability to interpret recipes.
  6. Execute catering responsibilities, including set-up, serving, delivery, cleaning, and table service, while maintaining a courteous and friendly interaction with customers.
  7. Stay informed about portion sizes, food items, and ingredients relevant to menu offerings. Follow the posted uniform policy.
  8. Engage in necessary training to accommodate operational changes affecting regular duties. Responsible for managing garbage removal and cardboard recycling in assigned areas.
  9. Conduct daily, weekly, or monthly physical inventories in designated areas as directed by the supervisor.
  10. Exercise functional supervision over student assistants and other support staff as required.

Required Education, Certifications, and Licensures:

  • High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge and abilities.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in a food service operation, specifically in food production within a commercial, institutional, restaurant, hotel kitchen, or similar setting.
  • Experience in customer service roles.
