Job description:

We are actively seeking to fill a part-time Food Service Worker/Cashier position at Belding Area Schools located at 850 Hall Street, Ionia, MI 48846. Please note that only online applications will be accepted.

The anticipated schedule for this role is part-time, from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with further details to be provided during the interview process. While prior food service experience is preferred, it is not a strict requirement.

Compensation for this position ranges from $12.48 to $16.00 per hour. Additionally, we offer an Internal Employee Referral Bonus.

Job Summary:
The responsibilities include performing cashiering duties and general food service tasks while maintaining sanitation standards in food preparation, service, and dining areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process food items, including washing, peeling, cutting, and measuring fruits and vegetables.
  • Transport food and supplies safely to workstations, serving areas, and storage locations.
  • Adhere to strict food safety and storage protocols, including proper wrapping, dating, and rotation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils in accordance with established standards.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Apply approved recipes and production standards to deliver optimal food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to customers, following standard service protocols.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints with a service-oriented approach.
  • Communicate pertinent information to the supervisor as necessary.
  • Conduct sales transactions accurately, including entering purchases in the cash register.
  • Manage various payment methods, ensuring correct cash handling and issuing receipts.
  • Adhere to procedures for processing cash refunds and maintain assigned cash drawers according to compliance standards.
  • Restock condiments and supplies while keeping the service area tidy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
