Job description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Worker/Cashier to join our team at Oakland University, with immediate hiring underway. The role is based at 312 Meadowbrook Road, Suite 146, Rochester, MI 48309. Please note that applications will only be accepted online.

The position requires full-time availability, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Candidates must possess barista experience to be considered for this role.

Job Summary:
In this role, you will perform essential cashiering duties alongside general food service functions, while maintaining high sanitation standards in both preparation and service areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preparation work, including washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, and measure ingredients as required.
  • Safely transport food items, utensils, and supplies between workstations, stove, and refrigerator.
  • Store food products according to wrapping, dating, and food safety protocols.
  • Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils to ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Follow approved recipes and production standards to deliver quality food at proper serving temperatures.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to customers, adhering to outlined service steps.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
  • Communicate necessary information to the supervisor.
    -Conduct sales transactions accurately using the cash register.
  • Manage cash handling procedures, including making change and processing various forms of payment.
  • Issue receipts and follow protocols for cash refunds.
  • Maintain assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with financial standards.
  • Replenish service area supplies while keeping it clean.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
