Job description:
We are currently seeking dedicated individuals for immediate hiring for both full-time and part-time Food Service Worker positions at Battle Creek Public Schools, located at 100 West Van Buren Street, Battle Creek, MI 49017. Please note that applications will only be accepted online.
The schedule for these positions includes full-time and part-time options, available Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. Additional details regarding the schedule will be provided during the interview process.
While previous experience in food service is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. Compensation for these roles ranges from $15.00 to $18.00 per hour.

Job Summary: The primary responsibilities of the Food Service Worker include the preparation, presentation, and serving of food as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform preparatory tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
- Accurately weigh and measure specified ingredients.
- Safely transport pans, kettles, and trays of food between workstations, stovetops, and refrigeration units.
- Store food in designated areas according to food safety, wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as required.
- Utilize approved recipes and production standards to ensure food quality, appropriate serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, adhering to established service protocols.
- Address customer concerns and communicate relevant information to a supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with company service standards along with inventory and cash control procedures.
- Adhere to all sanitation and safety requirements.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
