Position Summary
- Kitchen Helper / Dietary Aide: Supports the Cook in meal preparation and service, assembles food onto plates/trays per tray tickets while adhering to established policies and procedures, and ensures quality food service at all times. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering food, washing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen in accordance with health standards.
- Safety: Utilize protective gear as required. Responsible for the safe usage and mixing of cleaning solutions, reporting equipment/cleaning product needs or malfunctions to the supervisor, and ensuring compliance with established quality and safety guidelines. Follow infection control and universal precautions policies to maintain a sanitary environment.
- Punctuality: Exhibit consistent attendance and timely arrival, completing assigned cleaning areas in accordance with the schedule and responding promptly to paging systems.
- Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by following instructions and maintaining courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, coworkers, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Engage in positive and respectful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions, completing routine tasks daily.
- After sufficient training, utilize leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently while ensuring safety for oneself and others.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; specialized training in food service is desirable. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe certification is mandated by State/County law.
- A Food Handler’s card is also required.
- Must have reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies as required by state, local laws, and/or customers.
- Must be capable of lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, and standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
- Must be comfortable working around food and cleaning products.
- Must reside in the service area.
