Position Summary

  • Kitchen Helper / Dietary Aide: You will assist the Cook in meal preparation and service, arrange food on plates/trays adhering to established policies, and, as directed by the Food Services Director/Manager or Cook, ensure that quality food service is consistently provided. Responsibilities also include preparing and delivering food and trays, washing dishes, and maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen in accordance with health standards.
  • Safety: Utilize protective gear appropriately. Responsible for the safe handling and mixing of cleaning solutions while adhering to safety precautions. Report equipment or cleaning product needs and malfunctions to supervisors promptly. Ensure that established safety standards and quality guidelines are maintained. Follow infection control and universal precautions policies to uphold a sanitary environment.
  • Punctuality: Demonstrate consistent attendance and timely arrivals. Complete assigned cleaning tasks according to schedule and respond promptly to paging systems.
  • Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by being courteous and cooperative with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
  • Resident Experience: Foster positive, pleasant, and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

Qualifications

  • Maintain a positive attitude with the ability to follow oral and written instructions and to perform routine, repetitive tasks.
  • After completing training, utilize your leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently and safely.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; specialized training in food service is desirable. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
  • Current ServSafe certification is mandated by State/County law.
  • A Food Handler’s card is required.
  • Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as mandated by State, Local, and/or Customer requirements.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and maintain physical activity through standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Competency in performing routine, repetitive tasks consistently.
  • Must be comfortable working around food and cleaning products.
  • Residency within the service area is necessary.
