Job description:

To fulfill a range of responsibilities primarily associated with the check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a pleasant, professional, and efficient experience for all guests, the incumbent will engage in the following key activities:

  • Greet guests upon arrival, register them, and assign appropriate rooms while issuing room keys and detailed escort instructions to Bell personnel or directly to guests, ensuring room numbers remain confidential.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding hotel services, guest registration, local shopping, dining, entertainment options, and travel directions.
  • Maintain accurate records of room availability and guest accounts while managing reservations, including making, confirming, and canceling as required.
  • Calculate bills, process payments, and provide change as needed, with the capability to post charges for accommodations, dining, beverages, or telephone services both manually and electronically.
  • Organize incoming mail and messages through sorting, stamping, and shelving; efficiently transmit and receive communications using telephones, fax machines, and switchboards.
  • Comprehend and uphold hotel credit policies, ensuring all cash transactions are accounted for and deposits are made per hotel and corporate guidelines.
  • Take the initiative to welcome guests warmly and develop rapport from the very first interaction.
  • In a leadership role, oversee assigned employees in the absence of the Supervisor by delegating tasks and ensuring adherence to performance standards.
  • Facilitate arrangements for dining, transportation, or entertainment reservations for guests; assist in the safekeeping of valuables through hotel safes or safe-deposit boxes; and order complimentary items such as flowers or champagne for special occasions.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
