Canine To Five is seeking enthusiastic dog lovers to join our dynamic dog daycare and boarding facility located in Ferndale, MI. We aim to find individuals who can provide exceptional support to both our furry friends and their human companions.
We are currently hiring for full-time positions (30+ hours per week), which will include two weekends each month. No prior experience is required; however, candidates should possess a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn quickly, and, most importantly, a passion for dogs.

Position Summary:
This role encompasses several key responsibilities:
The Front Desk Associate, internally referred to as a Client Experience Representative, is the initial friendly face that all clients encounter upon entering our facility. This position is vital for client retention and requires a personable and compassionate professional who remembers faces and maintains a positive demeanor throughout the day. Responsibilities include processing payments, performing clerical tasks related to clients and their dogs, safely escorting dogs throughout the facility at a brisk pace, and handling additional projects as assigned.
As a Pack Leader, you will serve as the backbone of Canine To Five, ensuring safe and enjoyable group play for all dogs in our care. This role demands sound decision-making abilities, enthusiasm for both clients and dogs, and a level of confidence in your responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with dogs of all breeds and sizes, adept at managing group play dynamics, and able to operate independently in a lively, fast-paced environment. Those who thrive in this role will possess a great memory and a strong desire to learn about canine behavior and safety.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
- Proficiency in detailed cleaning tasks, such as vacuuming, mopping, wiping, and scrubbing
- Physical capability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, walk, run, bend, and reach
- Basic computer skills
- Strong decision-making, self-awareness, and time management abilities
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- An innate love for working with and caring for dogs
- Self-confidence when interacting with all breeds and sizes of dogs
- Willingness to navigate exposure to unpleasant odors, animal waste, bites, scratches, and contagious diseases
