Job description:
The primary responsibility of the front desk associate is to deliver an outstanding guest experience while fulfilling Veridea’s sales objectives. The ideal candidate will offer concierge-style, solution-oriented service while also serving as an in-house sales representative.
Essential Functions:
1. Serve as a knowledgeable concierge for guests, familiarizing yourself with the local area and community offerings. Interact with guests in a sincere, professional, and courteous manner, consistently exceeding expectations to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
2. Act as an in-house sales representative for the hotel by engaging with guests, gathering pertinent information, and communicating it to hotel management for contract negotiations.
a. Complete all reporting requirements as directed by the Director of Revenues and Sales.
b. Employ effective sales techniques to promote the property, maximizing occupancy and average rate.
Operational Functions:
1. Efficiently register and process guests upon arrival and departure.
2. Perform all guest accounting functions in accordance with hotel operating procedures, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all guest and house accounts.
3. Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the hotel’s services and facilities.
4. Adhere to established credit and inventory control procedures to mitigate revenue loss.
5. Accurately receive and process both telephone and walk-in reservations to guarantee guest satisfaction.
6. Resolve guest issues, complaints, or problems with diligence and commitment to excellence.
7. Operate the telephone system in accordance with Veridea standards, maintaining professionalism at all times.
8. Assume the role of manager on duty in the absence of management staff.
9. Understand and implement all hotel safety and security procedures to ensure a secure environment for both employees and guests.
10. Regularly inform your immediate supervisor of any significant issues or unusual matters, enabling prompt corrective action.
11. Actively seek additional duties and responsibilities that contribute to the efficient operation of the hotel.
