As a Front of House (FOH) Manager, you will oversee the service and management of the Front of House operations, ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet all guests, fostering a welcoming atmosphere and building personal connections.
- Schedule FOH personnel in alignment with the labor guidelines set forth by the Restaurant Manager.
- Ensure that FOH areas, equipment, and fixtures are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Conduct monthly inventories and manage pricing, cost controls, requisitioning, and distribution for beverages.
- Sustain elevated levels of guest satisfaction throughout service periods.
- Maintain an active presence on the floor to engage staff and enhance the guest experience.
- Personally interact with all tables to ensure service excellence.
- Assist in guest service as necessary and champion service recovery initiatives.
- Develop and implement side work, opening, and closing procedures that comply with SI/Big E’s standards and safety protocols.
- Lead and manage team members, holding them accountable to the performance standards as outlined by Suburban Inns and Big E’s, including taking disciplinary action as needed.
- Ensure all FOH team members possess TIPS and/or ServSafe certifications.
- Oversee FOH team member hours for compliance with established schedules.
- Review and approve payroll for FOH team members, ensuring accuracy in hours worked and compliance with labor laws.
- Make staffing adjustments at the end of shifts to meet guest service standards and labor cost goals.
- Prepare reports and schedules, performing various administrative duties.
- Secure dining areas at the conclusion of business operations.
- Foster open communication with Back of House staff.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings.
- Adhere to all Suburban Inns processes and demonstrate consistent attendance.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by management.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum Knowledge: Ability to interpret information and perform basic arithmetic functions. Proficiency in typing, record keeping, or word processing is required. Strong communication skills are essential.
- Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent experience is required along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Certifications: ServSafe Food, CPR, and TIPS certifications are required (may be obtained upon hiring).
- Work Schedule: Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, in response to business needs.
- Travel: Occasional travel to other Suburban Inns properties or client locations may be required.
Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:
- Uniform: Professional attire as per Suburban Inns guidelines, with closed-toe, non-slip shoes.
- Appearance: Hair must be well-groomed, and facial piercings and visible tattoos must be approved by management. Any tattoos deemed offensive based on sensitive classifications must be concealed. This policy is enforced without bias towards any protected characteristics. The Vice President of Operations retains the authority to override any decisions made by management regarding this policy.
