AI Pay Analysis: To analyze the hourly rate for a “FT Starbucks Barista” in Grand Rapids, MI, it’s important to consider both the regional cost of living and national averages for similar roles. As of 2023, Starbucks baristas in the U.S. typically earn between $12 to $18 per hour, depending on experience and location, with many positions in urban areas offering rates at or above the higher end of that spectrum. Given that Grand Rapids has a relatively lower cost of living compared to larger Michigan cities like Detroit, a competitive rate would likely be in the $14 to $16 range, especially with the potential for bonuses and tips. If the hourly rate offered falls within or above this range, it would be considered competitive and aligned with industry standards for this role in the area.
