The ideal candidate will be a passionate, diligent individual who pursues excellence in their work. We welcome both new medical assistants eager to immerse themselves in the role and seasoned professionals who can contribute their expertise to our well-established and dynamic practice.

At our practice, medical assistants play a vital role, engaging in a variety of tasks spanning patient care, allergy testing, and administrative responsibilities, including potential front desk duties through cross-training.

Job Summary:

Your responsibilities will include printing lab reports, summarizing treatment sessions, charting appointments, and managing electronic health records, along with other clinical and administrative functions.

Work Hours:

Our office operates from 9 AM to 6 PM (or until the last patient is discharged) Monday through Thursday, with half-day shifts on the second Saturday of every month. Work hours typically start between 8:30 and 8:45 AM and extend until the last patient is seen (generally 6 PM or later, but no later than 7:30 PM). Medical assistants will alternate Saturday shifts each month, with mandatory half-day hours from 9 AM to 1 PM, accompanied by one provider.

Responsibilities:

  • Document patient visits by taking notes and entering information into the electronic health records system.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure accurate and comprehensive patient documentation.
  • Coordinate with physicians to complete and submit medical records.
  • Maintain professional communication with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff.
  • Fulfill administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Perform various medical procedures and tests (training will be provided for the right candidate), including:
    • Patient intake: taking vitals, documenting medical history, and recorded vaccinations
    • Allergy scratch and intradermal tests
    • Spirometry
    • Intramuscular injections (allergy shots, biologics, and select vaccinations)
    • Nebulizer treatments
    • Patient education

Additional responsibilities may include (subject to staffing and patient appointment volume):

  • Administrative tasks such as entering lab results, reviewing diagnostic testing results, and retrieving records from other EMRs for patient appointments.
  • Cross-training with medical reception to assist during peak times.
  • Management of prescription refills.
  • Triage responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Proficient note-taking and documentation skills
  • Strong computer and transcription capabilities
  • Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Highly organized with excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • BCLS certification required

As a small and busy private practice, we prioritize a productive and positive work culture. We offer paid time off (structured according to scheduled hours) and holiday pay following an initial 90-day probationary period. Although we do not provide health benefits, we present opportunities for advancement in a supportive family-like work environment. Federal holidays are optional, and the pay rate is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
