Job description:
Activate is a comprehensive interactive gaming facility seeking to enhance our team with the addition of a General Manager. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Assistant Manager and Game Facilitators, bringing a strong customer service orientation, the ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team, and a passion for technology and gaming.
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring flexible working hours to accommodate the business’s needs, including a mix of days, evenings, and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring alignment with and communication of company objectives.
- Assist in the development and execution of initiatives aimed at fostering business growth and implementing these strategies among internal staff.
- Enhance brand visibility and drive sales through local event participation and targeted marketing campaigns as guided by our marketing department.
- Engage with customers through email and phone inquiries.
- Participate in various business-oriented meetings, including continuous training and skill development related to company initiatives.
- Manage operational budgets, including labor and inventory costs.
Customer Relations
- Facilitate customer check-ins and payment processes, coaching team members to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Schedule shifts to maximize meaningful customer interactions throughout their gaming experience.
- Create a positive and lasting impression on customers through an energetic and engaging attitude.
- Maintain a high priority on customer satisfaction and ensure it remains a central focus.
- Proactively greet and engage with all customers.
- Collect and communicate customer feedback for process improvement.
Staff Relations
- Schedule duties as necessary to ensure adequate staffing during peak periods.
- Lead recruitment efforts to build a talent pipeline conducive to business development across all roles.
- Supervise employees, providing both formal and informal coaching.
- Develop personalized improvement plans for team members.
- Participate in the training and evaluation of both new and existing employees.
- Coordinate training sessions and performance evaluations to enhance employee development.
Maintenance Duties
- Ensure that gaming facilities operate at optimal efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of the front desk and gaming areas.
- Complete weekly and monthly checklists to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Communicate maintenance and operational needs to the relevant departments.
- Execute daily cleaning and maintenance tasks in accordance with company standards.
- Manage and oversee all facilitating activities within the front desk and gaming environments.
