As a General Manager (GM), you will provide strategic leadership and daily direction to the sales and group personal training teams across two locations. This pivotal role requires a comprehensive understanding of sales and operational excellence, coupled with a passion for coaching and talent development. As the head of the sales function, you will be responsible for executing lead generation and marketing strategies designed to boost fitness program sales and highlight the health and wellness benefits associated with a healthy lifestyle. This position calls for a leader who is enthusiastic, innovative, and results-driven.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Demonstrate all studio activities and the sales process through active involvement, leading by example.
- Be accountable for meeting and exceeding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Lead and coordinate initial and ongoing sales initiatives, including promotions, events, and outreach, while executing effective lead generation strategies.
- Oversee the entire employee lifecycle for all studio staff, encompassing recruiting, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions as necessary, and offboarding.
- Train and mentor staff to establish a robust leadership pipeline; conduct daily role play exercises to cultivate a high-performing team.
- Manage studio budgets, ensuring oversight of revenue, payroll, supplies, inventory management, and the Return Merchandise Authorization process.
- Schedule sales staff and conduct weekly audits of all time cards, ensuring timely and accurate payroll submission every two weeks.
- Organize and lead monthly staff meetings with sales and fitness teams to review performance, objectives, goals, events, and marketing campaigns.
- Attend weekly meetings with Regional Managers to report on performance metrics and studio activities.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to optimize class scheduling and maintain optimal OTF class sizes.
- Ensure compliance with front desk systems that address member check-ins, telephone inquiries (both general and sales-related), first-time guest bookings, onboarding of new members, and other administrative duties.
- Plan and promote monthly special events for the studio, leveraging OTF tools for outreach and community engagement.
Operational Duties:
- Ensure compliance with OTF business policies and the Thrive employee handbook for efficient studio operations.
- Promote OTF branding by ensuring consistency and alignment in all actions while adhering to corporate policies, business practices, systems, and processes.
- Collaborate with the facilities department to troubleshoot any equipment and technology issues, while ensuring the facility remains clean and operationally sound.
- Make informed decisions to resolve customer service issues effectively.
