Job description:
This position serves as the primary point of contact for customer service at the Escanaba Field Office. The successful candidate will possess the ability to assess customer needs and determine appropriate actions to effectively satisfy and exceed those needs. Proficiency in navigating the DNR website and articulating that information to clients is essential.
The General Office Assistant (GOA) will operate the front desk telephone console, welcome visitors, and relay pertinent information regarding DNR rules, regulations, and procedures to the public. This role involves the sale of hunting and fishing licenses, special hunt applications, boating access site permits, as well as snowmobile and off-road vehicle permits. Additionally, the GOA will be responsible for maintaining an organized display of brochures, posters, and guides; keeping a customer log; processing incoming and outgoing mail and packages for both the United States and State ID; and performing various incidental support duties as directed. It is crucial that the individual convey a courteous, helpful, and professional demeanor at all times.
Educational qualifications typically include the completion of high school.
For the General Office Assistant 5 level, no specific prior experience is required. For the General Office Assistant 6 level, one year of administrative support experience is necessary. For the General Office Assistant E7 level, candidates must possess two years of administrative support experience, including at least one year at the intermediate level.
