Job description:

The primary responsibility of a Guest Services Associate at United Dairy Farmers is to deliver exceptional service to each Guest by adhering to the five phases of The Hi Five Guest Experience: Invited, Welcomed, Well-Served, Respected, and Fulfilled. The Associate is expected to operate in compliance with company policies to ensure the safe and efficient management of their shift. This role requires an honest and ethical approach, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations as well as company guidelines.

Essential Functions:

  • Overall Guest Services: Deliver the signature UDF Hi Five Guest Experience by warmly greeting Guests, ensuring the store is consistently ready for visitors, anticipating Guest needs, and assisting them to ensure satisfaction with the goal of fostering return visits.
  • DipSide Guest Services: Prepare shakes, malts, cones, sundaes, sodas, and "hand-packed" containers of ice cream and yogurt.
  • Efficient Operation of Point of Sale System and Gas Console: Authorize and manage gas sales responsibly, accurately conduct all transactions, and handle various forms of payment while ensuring precise change is provided.
  • Stocking Merchandise: Maintain well-stocked shelves, displays, milk boxes, and freezers, ensure the dip cabinet is appealing to Guests, keep coffee pots and ice dispensers filled, ensure proper stock rotation, and monitor expiration dates.
  • Security: Remain vigilant to minimize instances of shoplifting and gas drive-offs, manage cash levels through proper drop procedures, and adhere to protocols outlined in the Tobacco/Alcohol Management and Robbery/Violence Deterrence programs.
  • Maintenance: Ensure the store and parking lot are clean, safe, and organized; maintain cleanliness of store equipment; and monitor product refrigeration temperatures.
  • Reporting: Complete time records and the Customer First Document accurately.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficient communication skills in spoken English to interact effectively with customers.
  • Adequate vision to operate store equipment, including POS terminals and gas consoles, and to verify identification and pricing.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow operating instructions for store equipment.
  • Skill in preparing DipSide items using the supplies found in dip cabinets.
  • Proficiency in handling various forms of payment, accurately recognizing denominations, and making change.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic for record-keeping purposes.
  • Capability to move merchandise from storage to proper display areas.
  • Competence in cleaning counters and surfaces effectively.
  • Tolerance for exposure to low temperatures, as cold as -30°F for up to 2 minutes and 33°F for up to 10 minutes.
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 10 pounds from floor level to a height of 5 feet.
  • Capacity to place a package measuring 8” x 10” x 10” and weighing 21 pounds into a dip cabinet situated 3 feet above ground level.
