Job description:
The Hearing Care Coordinator (HCC) plays a vital role in collaborating with our clinical staff to deliver exceptional patient care and service. In partnership with Hearing Care Professionals on-site, the HCC supports both referring physicians and patients, ensuring a seamless experience throughout the clinic. Key responsibilities include scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits, and assisting with various patient support needs.

As a Hearing Care Coordinator, your responsibilities will encompass:

– Welcoming patients with a warm and professional demeanor
– Initiating outbound calls to current and former patients to schedule follow-up hearing tests, consultations, and evaluations within the clinic
– Collecting patient intake forms and maintaining comprehensive patient files and notes
– Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
– Conducting benefit verifications and obtaining authorizations for insurance coverage for each patient
– Serving as the first point of contact for patient inquiries, checking patients in and out, and processing payments
– Assisting with repairs under the supervision of a licensed Hearing Care Professional
– Preparing bank deposits and submitting daily financial reports
– Demonstrating general sales knowledge related to accessories and patient support
– Processing patient orders, managing order confirmations, and accurately entering information into our systems
– Ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and instruments
– Submitting requests for equipment and facility needs
– Performing general office duties, including upkeep and organization
– Managing inventory, monitoring stock levels, and placing supply orders as necessary
– Assisting in the planning and logistics of at least one community outreach event per month

Education requirements include:

– A High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree is preferred.

Industry/Product Knowledge Required:

– Familiarity with hearing aids is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities:

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Strong ability to build relationships with patients, physicians, and clinical staff
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
– Understanding of HIPAA regulations
– Experience with EMR/EHR systems is a plus

Work Experience:

– A minimum of 2 years in a healthcare environment is preferred
– Prior customer service experience is essential
