Your role.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the Application Development Help Desk Support team, providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Managing and prioritizing Help Desk tickets to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Overseeing external contractors working on Help Desk tickets to ensure compliance with performance standards and SLAs.
  • Collaborating with the Application Development team to identify and resolve application-related issues.
  • Identifying opportunities for application updates to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Developing and implementing processes and procedures to enhance Support operations and efficiency.
  • Monitoring and reporting on Help Desk performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Delivering exemplary customer service to internal staff by addressing their incidents and concerns.
  • Remaining current with industry trends and best practices in application development and support.
  • Completing development tasks related to Support incidents and projects.
  • Writing clean, testable code using .NET (including both .NET Framework and modern .NET) and unit tests.
  • Writing SQL queries for investigation and analysis throughout the development process.
  • Providing technical leadership across all project phases, from discovery and planning through implementation and support.
  • Collaborating with internal staff to architect, develop, validate, and implement software solutions aligned with requirements, enterprise standards, and existing design patterns.
  • Troubleshooting and solving multiple issues concurrently.
  • Coordinating, delegating, and mentoring less experienced staff in issue resolution.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation, including solution architecture diagrams, technical designs, software development processes, and technical support activities based on approved design patterns.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

The qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Application Developer, complemented by a solid background in Help Desk support.
  • Proficiency in C# .NET development and MS SQL Server is required.
  • Familiarity with Git source control is essential.
  • Experience with GitHub, Microsoft Azure DevOps, CI/CD Pipelines, GitHub Actions, JavaScript, JS Frameworks, CSS/SCSS, SOAP, REST, and MVC is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Azure App Service, Storage, Functions, Queues, and Cloud Services is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Experience in developing and updating .NET APIs.
  • Strong coding, debugging, and troubleshooting skills with a solid comprehension of relational databases and data models.
  • Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Postman or similar tools for API testing during development.
  • Ability to develop unit tests to achieve 100% code coverage for all new development tasks.
  • Proficiency in conducting code reviews via the pull request process in GitHub and/or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience in React front-end development is a plus but not required.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience working with external contractors and managing vendor relationships.
  • Thorough understanding of service level agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience creating and presenting key performance indicator (KPI) reports and metrics related to Help Desk incidents and problems.
  • This position may occasionally require local and national travel within the United States.

Salary

We offer eligible staff a robust benefits package with varying eligibility and contribution requirements based on weekly work hours. Interns and Contractors have the option to enroll in our contingent staff medical plan after 60 days of employment, with limited paid sick leave. Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits.
